Our clients in London: A number of contract Java positions to experienced Developers within the financial sector –

Network Engineer Jobs

We are currently working with an expanding international Managed Service Provider in their search for a number of Network Engineer specialists in London.


Purpose of the role

The main responsibility is for providing 2nd – 3rd line technical network infrastructure support, project implementations and infrastructure design within the Cisco, Microsoft & Virtualisation arena.
The role is based on providing technical support and onsite project work as part of a team with a focused upon day to day delivery which needs to be completed in an effective manner with attention to detail and accuracy.
The nature of our clients business requires a high level of technical knowledge, flexibility, common sense and initiative. While the specific content of your role is clearly defined, this may evolve over time and needs a proactive and hands on approach to duties.
The candidate is expected to be competent in the following areas:

  •  Cisco CCNP Routing & Switching, 3-5 years’ experience
  • CCNA Voice certifications, 3-5 years’ experience
  • Cisco Call Manager/Unity & Call Manager/Unity express experience
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016, 3-5 years’ experience

Linux Administrator – Greater Manchester

Overview:Do you have a huge passion for technology and enjoy troubleshooting and fixing issues? If so, then we may have a place for you with our Manchester based client. You will be joining an existing Linux support team, with high standards and a can-do attitude. A passion about what you do is a pre-requisite along with an ability to multi-task, prioritise and be able to work on your own initiative.
Main Duties:

  • Assisting with and maintaining customer solutions
  • Helping with server setup, configuration and support
  • Advising with client issues
  • Developing new products

Required Skills:

  • Experience building, installing and supporting Linux server(s). Ideally Red Hat/Debian based distributions
  • Excellent customer service skills with working experience
  • Experience of Linux systems in a networking environment

Training is offered to successful applicants, but it would be desirable if you had the following:

  • Experience of Linux systems administration in a hosting environment
  • Experience installing, configuring and supporting Apache/NGiNX, MySQL/PostgreSQL, FTP and Mail      Servers
  • Exposure to diagnosing various server issues using standard open source tools
  • Exposure to command line scripting

Job Summary:
Build and maintain Drupal 7 and 8 sites to tight deadlines following best practice. Contribute to development of client websites using broad web development skills and experience.


Your typical day would be:

•      Drupal site building using different techniques to implement user stories.

Our client is looking to hire a solid PHP Developer to join their E-commerce practice on a permanent basis

Your Role

You will be working on client projects ranging from new builds to ongoing support and maintenance, implementing technical solutions to improve conversion rates, launch new stores and power new functionality.

The workload tends to be split between ongoing maintenance for long standing clients and working on new build projects for new or existing clients. Projects can range in size from a few hours through to months for a larger scale project.

Qualifications and Progression

You will be supported by your fellow developers as you progress and will be supported through certification as a Zend Certified Engineer and also Magento Certified Developer (if not already achieved) and then finally they will guide you
through a process of training and assessment in Magento 2 development.

Our client uses Linux for everything so knowledge of Linux is desirable. Their focus is on e-commerce so any experience in this field is very useful though not essential.

They work with Magento and Magento 2- again experience is useful but not essential as long as you are able to get your head around complex systems quickly.

You must be willing to work together with the team, helping others and asking for help as appropriate.
